Alpha Sigma Alpha supports two fantastic philanthropies....

SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Special Olympics was established in 1968 bu
the Joseph P Kennedy Foundation and exists in
all 50 US states, the District of Columbia, and
over 120 countries around the word.
Special Olympics provides sports training and
competition opportunities for children and
adults with mental retardation.
Alpha Sigma Alpha's affiliation with Special
Olympics began in 1976, when the National
Convention body voted to name Special
Olympics as the first designated national
philanthropy.
Since then, collegiate and alumnae chapters
have continued to support Special Olympics
with both time and financial support.

S. JUNE SMITH CENTER
The S. June Smith Center, named for Dr. S. June
Smith, provides programs of early
intervention to meet the needs of infants and
preschoolers with developmental and physical
disabilities.
The S. June Smith Center, established in 1965,
provides individual programs of intensive,
personal care at no cost to participants to help
each child reach his or her fullest potential.
Dr. S. June Smith's message is clear. It is simply
"to find the gift in every child."
Since its adoption as a national philanthropy,
collegiate and alumnae chapters support the S.
June Smith center with financial support. In
addition, local chapters in the Lancaster
County, Pennsylvania area also provide
valuable volunteer hours at the Center.
